Barr Cruise Wedding

Bride and groom kissing on cruise.

We met Laz years ago. He was working at Starbucks, so of course we slowly got to know him. Shoutout to that Starbucks addiction. lol After a while, we found out he was finally engaged...to Deb...and they were THAT couple! You know.. the couple that is radiating chemistry....have that look about them and are literally head over heals for each other. Needless to say, we HAD to shoot their wedding.

When told us they were having a cruise wedding with all their family, we decided to do the whole shebang! We got to capture not only their ceremony, but their whole extravaganza with their family throughout the week!

We always love getting to connect with our couples. But after this cruise, they felt more like family to us!

Number One Tip for Future Phocus Couples to Consider About The Wedding Day: There will be stress from outside influences (i.e. family, wedding vendors, time going too quick, etc.) just try to be as present as possible with your new spouse.

How did you two meet? (Tell us all those little details!)

In 2014, Laz saw Deb at a 4th of July party on Pensacola Beach. He didn't go up to her at that time and didn't see her again until a year later. We officially met at World of Beer in Pensacola Florida in 2015. Laz stopped Deb in the hallway and said "pardon me miss, can I ask you 3 questions". The questions that he asked were 1.Do you have any kids? 2. Do you have a boyfriend? 3. Would you mind if we talked sometime?. After that Laz handed Deb his business card and Deb reached out to him a few days later.

We started out the cruise with their First look followed by their sweet intimate ceremony. The two exchanged their vows and rings and became Mr. and Mrs. Barr!!

What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos/video? I am excited For all of it! The day went by really quickly, so I want to soak in all the joy that will come through in the pictures. -Deb

What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos/video?

That's a tough question, between the wedding reception, our honeymoon shoot, and our formal dinner with family. -Laz

Describe what you felt when you saw your bride on your wedding day:

I was trying to hold in my tears but I was so happy to see her. I thought in that moment "we're finally doing it". -Laz

Describe what you felt when you saw your groom on your wedding day:

Phew, all the feelings. Excitement, gratitude, peace, comfort, and overwhelming happiness. -Deb

What was the most emotional part of the day for you?

There were so many moments but the one that sticks out the most is when we were looking at each other at the alter. -Laz

We then had an intimate couples session around the boat and lets just say it was FIREEEEEE!

Just the three of us strolling the boat while finding all the secret gorgeous places!

Tell us about THE dress! What made you fall in love?

I went to David's Bridal in January with my mom and sister and found a dress that I really liked and actually ended up purchasing it, but when I went to pick up the dress it just didn't resonate with me in the same way so I ended up returning that dress. A little scared from that experience, I held off on looking at dresses again until July. I went with my 2 best friends to a random bridal store and looked around at dress options in my budget. The dress that I found was outside of my budget but just from the hanger I knew I was going to love it. When I tried it on, I couldn't stop smiling. I felt so beautiful and it was flattering in all the right ways. I had some second thoughts about the dress because it was out of budget, but ultimately, I am so grateful that I got the dress that made me feel comfortable and beautiful.

We then celebrated with their family during their reception! They had cake cutting, toast and dances....Let's just say this family knows how to PARTY!!

What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?

"Why I love you" by MAJOR. when we first heard the song the beauty of it was something that we couldn't deny and we knew we wanted it at the wedding.

What was the most emotional part of the day for you?

Holding each other during the first dance, I felt like it was only us in the room.-Deb

We then cruised to Princess Kayes and let me tell you... it was absolutely breathtaking! The crystal blue water, sunshine and these two made for some SPICY photos! #Goals

What is ONE moment of your day that you will always remember?

Not sure if it was just one moment but there we're so many moments where our family and friends were so happy for us, we felt so deeply loved and supported by them.

Favorite part of the Phocus Experience?

WOW, there is so much that I am grateful for with the Phocus experience. We are so glad that we chose to have Tim there for not only the ceremony/reception but for our cruise as well. Tim was extremely thoughtful and present with us the entire time. It felt like having a best friend there with us because he really advocated and supported us in having the best experience possible. Choosing Phocus was absolutely the best choice that we made for our wedding and our friends and family also raved about the experiences and interactions that they had with Tim as well. Tim was kind, patient, professional, present, flexible, and very detail oriented. Tim truly went above and beyond our expectations.
