Jarman's Sowell Farms Wedding

Couple kissing on a bridge at Sowell Farms.

We often get the chance to shoot out at the beautiful Sowell Farms and let me tell you...the sunsets there are quite something! Their gorgeous open field, breathtaking pond and stunning barn make for the most perfect backdrop!

We recently got the chance to photograph Emily and Austin's Sowell Farms wedding and the photos could not have turned out any better...I mean, look how cute these two are!

Number one tip for future brides?

Listen to one another and take each others opinions into everything!

What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos/video?

Our private vows and baby bump kiss.- Emily

We always love when couples do things that are "them" on the wedding day. For Austin and Emily, it was doing a private vow reading together, just the two of them! It was such an intimate and special moment.

What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos/video?

I want to see our vows and our ceremony.-Austin

How did you two meet? (Tell us all those little details!)

We met both working at Cheddars, he was the bartender and I was a server, never really spoke to each other much until about 2 years of working together. Then on our first date we had went somewhere at like 3am where my car broke down and we spent the first date trying to discreetly get my car fixed without my dad finding out. Now here we are almost 4 years later!

Tell us about THE dress! What made you fall in love?

I’m not like a lot of the girls who got married in my family, I have tattoos and piercings which also meant not everyone expected me to have a white dress, when I went to look for one I almost considered that I wouldn’t find one because they looked too girly or frilly or didn’t compliment my tattoos. But the satin a-line fit my hips incredibly nice and it had a halter neckline that made my tattoos pop, it was the only dress that made me feel like a true bride.

What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?

Honestly, we went with it because it felt like the only song we’d be able to dance to and because we are some real cheesy people.

Describe what you felt when you saw your bride on your wedding day:

My heart melted. I wanted to cry and laugh at the same time. I knew that I was spending the rest of my life with my best friend and love of my life! -Austin

Describe what you felt when you saw your groom on your wedding day:

I felt an incredible amount of hope and love, I felt super nervous obviously and a little scared of tripping, but once he turned around I honestly couldn’t focus on anything else. -Emily

What was the most emotional part of the day for you?

Our private vows, there was no pressure from everyone else and no one else knows what we’ve gone through as a couple, so it really hit home with how raw and open it was between us.-Emily

What was the most emotional part of the day for you?

Waiting to turn around to see my new wife walking down the aisle-Austin

Groom seeing bride walk down the aisle.

What is ONE moment of your day that you will always remember?

Our first dance, we were both very nervous and couldn’t stop giggling because he was spinning really fast but it was also sweet and wholesome.

Favorite part of the Phocus Experience?

Just how personal they are with you and how they make you feel like they are truly here for you and you only, not like you’re another bride and groom.
