Number One Tip for Future Phocus Couples to Consider About The Wedding Day:
Carve out time for yourself before the wedding. Workout, get some food, read - whatever it is! Just have a moment to reflect and be excited for what’s to come that day!
What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos/video?
The vows for sure - I can really envision a lot of the day, but that part I was so focused on Danny, I didn’t even really take in the moment around us, so it will be amazing reliving that from a new perspective. -Lauren
What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos/video?
The engagement photos and post-wedding photos in the bridal life., I thought engagement photos felt classy & cool. The ones in the loft were the first time we could really relax as husband & wife.-Danny
How did you two meet? (Tell us all those little details!)
How We Met Lauren & Danny met on their first day of business school while attending Pepperdine University in 2015 B.C. (before COVID). It’s true what they say: opposites attract. Their love is no different. With Lauren scoring very high on the Meyers-Briggs extrovert scale and Danny scoring the complete opposite, they were quickly paired together to work as a team. Who would’ve thought that a project on doing business in Germany would’ve been the start of a friendship that evolved into so much more? Favorite Memories Their unofficial first date started at the conclusion of a school project outing when the 2 stayed behind after the group left, and Danny offered to buy Lauren a drink. One whiskey ginger later, Lauren & Danny had their first dance - and a mutual feeling that they’d be together forever. In 2017, the pair decided to move to Mar Vista on the Westside of LA. Beaux Charles, their extra fancy tuxedo cat, completed their little family one year later. Since then, they’ve traveled throughout the US and on 3 continents, with plans to reach another 2, to continue their love of wine tasting, record stores, and bookstores (their apartment is filled with wine, records, and books as proof).
Tell us about THE dress! What made you fall in love?
Ha! I actually didn’t want a traditional dress. I wanted something cost effective, but thankfully my mom talked me out of that. When we were shopping, I asked for something off the shoulder and a-line, and they snuck in a dress that was the complete opposite. Professionals really know what they’re doing because THAT was the dress that made me say “oh my gosh” 6 times in a row with no other feedback. It was perfect!
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
Our first dance song was “Loving is Easy” by Rex Orange County. It really symbolizes us - it’s fun and upbeat but also chill & acoustic. It’s complicated fun just like we are. Plus, the words really resonated with where we were when we met - “all on my own, almost glad to be alone then love came in on time.”
Describe what you felt when you saw your bride on your wedding day:
An overwhelming rush of feelings. I see my now bride on a daily basis, but i had so many good, positive emotions when I saw her. It was intoxicating. -Danny
Describe what you felt when you saw your groom on your wedding day:
Excited. Slightly nervous that I might fall (my heels were probably too high), but most of all so happy that we were finally making it official in front of our family & friends.-Lauren
What was the most emotional part of the day for you?
The most emotional part was during the toasts. So many friends & family had such beautiful words for us - how they met us, how they see so much love between us, and how excited they are for our future. I was really overwhelmed. My grandmother was the last person to speak, right after my mom said some beautiful words about my dad, grandpa, and Godsister who had all passed away before this day that they were all so excited for. It was so moving to have that moment followed by my grandmothers toast. She was so happy for us that I cried and she cried but they were all happy tears!-Lauren
What was the most emotional part of the day for you?
At the altar - I got really emotional. Even though you rehearse and you know what to expect, you can never prepare for the actual moment. It just hits different. -Danny
What is ONE moment of your day that you will always remember?
It’s so hard to pick one moment because this was truly the best day of our lives, but if we had to pick one THING to remember it would be how much fun we had on that day. SO MUCH FUN!
