Where to begin.... DETAILS. DETAILS. DETAILS. The amount of detail that went into Shanks and Taylor's wedding was just astonishing. I honestly don't know how PS Weddings created such a beautiful wedding the way they did. From the insane center pieces (Shoutout to one of our favorites Chrissy H Florals) to the little touches throughout. It couldn't have turned out any more perfect.
If you haven't been to the Moonflower Salon in Downtown, Pensacola... you're missing out! It made for the PERFECT getting ready location for Taylor and her girls! The vibe there is amazing and girls are so talented! Not to mention we couldn't ask for a better location!
Number One Tip for Future Phocus Brides to Consider: "They are worth every penny! Phocus photography is more than just your photographer, they go above and beyond to make your wedding day as stress free and fun as possible!!" -Taylor
What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos?
HE SAID: "The candid photos of Taylor and I."-Shanks
SHE SAID: "Pictures of Shanks and I during the ceremony!"- Taylor
Old Christ Church in Pensacola, Florida is such a historic venue and it made the perfect ceremony venue for Taylor and Shanks!
If we had to sum up Taylor and Shanks ceremony, I'd have use the word Timeless. Everything about it was timeless... the simplicity, beauty, and intimacy was definitely present. Instead of having a huge wedding ceremony, they decided to keep it to close friends and family and then have everyone else join the party at the reception. And let's just say it WAS a partayyyy! (just like the phocus team likes it!)
Tell us about THE dress! The dress had a little bit of everything I wanted in a dress. It was VERY detailed with lace, sparkles, and beads! It gave me all the bride/princess feels I was looking for in a dress!
Tell Us About Your First Dance!
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST DANCE SONG? The ground up by Dan and Shay
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THAT SONG? It was a song we felt we both could relate to.
There's nothing better than a first dance at sunset. The wind was blowing, the sun was glowing and the love was there. In moments like these, I love seeing how a bride and groom can stop and just take in moments. Let's face it, most of the day, the bride and groom are being pulled here and there, getting ready, saying hi to friends and family or taking photos. So when I see the couple taking in moments like these, it reminds we of the "why" behind what we do.
(For the Groom) Describe the BRIDE on your wedding day!
The most beautiful I have ever seen her!
(For the Bride) Describe the GROOM on your wedding day!
"He was nervous but he was a handsome nervous groom! Once we finally said our “I do” He seemed to relax and seemed that he had the best night of his life! As so did I!"-Taylor
What was the most EMOTIONAL part of the day and WHY?
HE SAID:"Watching Taylor’s father walk her down the aisle".-Shanks
SHE SAID: "Having my first look with my dad. He has been the best dad ever and I know it was hard for him to give his baby away." -Taylor
Give me all the Father/Daughter first looks!! They're one of the most emotional parts of the wedding day and it gives me the feels. If you know the Phocus team, you know our motto this year is to "DELIVER A FEELING". See, in the years to come, I know Taylor's dad will live this moment....this feeling over again through these photos and THAT right there is WHY we are wedding photographers....Because I can get in THAT moment the way they are so when they look back and try to remember that part of the day, they don't remember it from a far off photo, but they remember it just as it was... up close and in that one moment.-Phocus
What is ONE moment of your wedding you will always remember?
"Having our daughter join us for our first dance."-Taylor
