Meaghan and Jonathan

Bride and groom walking down aisle with rose petals in the air.

We met Meaghan and Jonathan in 2019. They had all these big dreams for their wedding day... and then....Covid hit. When Meaghan came to us about doing a small ceremony with a few of their closest friends and family (picture below), we were all for it. Fast forward 2 years...and...they finally got to have that dream wedding!

Being a part of such a moment for them truly meant the world for us. I can 100% say we were totally invested in them! With the long relationship we've had over the years, it felt like our friends finally tying the knot.

Number One Tip for Future Phocus Couples to Consider About The Wedding Day: Take some minutes throughout the day to appreciate each other and all of the hard work that you put in for your wedding day.

Meaghan was 100% smiles ALL day. I guess when you go through all that time together with all the ups and downs, having that special day to share it with your person...who wouldn't be smiles all day.

What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos/video? Flower petal toss!-Meaghan

WE. LOVE. FLOWER. PETAL. TOSSES!!

The raw reaction you get during a petal toss after just being pronounced Mr. and Mrs. was one of my favorite parts of the day. 10/10 recommend!

How did you two meet? (Tell us all those little details!) We met through mutual friends at Seville Quarter in the piano bar. We went on a few dates and three weeks later, Jon moved to Hawaii. We did long distance for a year and a half then I finally moved out there so we could be together. We have been together for eight years now! :)

You can definitely tell these two have been together for a while. They just have that "best friend" feel to them.

Tell us about THE dress! What made you fall in love? I had always had a vision for my dress. I wanted a lace detailed dress with an A-line silhouette. I knew immediately that my dress was the one when I put it on at The Bridal Suite. It had a blush undertone which really made the white lace pop and I fell in love!

What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it? Perfect by Ed Sheeran ft. Beyoncé We chose this song because it best described our relationship and how we felt about each other. We also did the version with Beyoncé to include Jon since so many first dance songs are just about the bride.

Describe what you felt when you saw your bride on your wedding day: I felt so happy and thought that she was so beautiful. I was also so excited to see that it was finally happening. I loved seeing the happiness in her face.- Jonathan

Describe what you felt when you saw your groom on your wedding day: I felt an overwhelming sense of Joy. I couldn't believe that it was finally happening and that all of our hard work paid off. Jon looked so handsome and I knew that I was going to be so happy spending that rest of my life with him. - Meaghan

What was the most emotional part of the day for you? For me, it was the last dance. It was so bittersweet knowing that our wedding day was coming to a close and realizing that it couldn't have been more perfect. The song was also very special to us during this past deployment and was very emotional for me to dance with Jon to that song.- Meaghan

The last dance on a wedding day can be so special. If you don't know, it's where all the guests go line up for the grand exit with only the couple inside sharing one last song together at their wedding. Seriously such a sweet moment.

What was the most emotional part of the day for you? The last dance was the most emotional part of the day for me. The whole day was wrapping up and I realized how everything came together and I was so happy. -Jonathan

What is ONE moment of your day that you will always remember? Seeing each other as I walked down the aisle.

Favorite part of the Phocus Experience? The Phocus team went above and beyond to make our day so special. Not only did the photos go so smoothly, but they helped bustle my dress and made sure we ate. Tim grabbed us drinks all night long. They also kept up the timeline and we didn't even notice them taking pictures or videos during the reception. They felt more like friends than photographers and you could really feel their passion for what they do for a living.

This couldn't have been a more special moment for us, working with Meaghan and Jon. Being there every step of the way and seeing the two of them in so many ups and downs make us even more grateful we got to capture their special day (s).

Check out some of our favorites of the day!
