Katelyn and Jason

Number One Tip for Future Phocus Couples to Consider About The Wedding Day: Enjoy the moment, and don’t stress about the details the day of! It’ll all work itself out! Also, let the emotions flow - makeup can be fixed, but you can’t go back and live in the moment again!

We've known Katelyn and her family for quite some time, so being a part of this wedding was a little extra special for us.

Jason and Katelyn were so easy on the wedding day. When we arrived, there was such a peace on the day of. The was no stress at all. They didn't worry about all the little things possibly going wrong.(seriously everything was perfect) They knew the deeper reason of the wedding day....one that they had wait for a while for.

What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos/video? (bride's response) Walking down the aisle - bride and groom

What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos/video? (groom's response) Feet washing ceremony

We don't often get the chance to see a feet washing ceremony, but honestly it's one of my favorite. There's no better way to show humility and servanthood than through this act. When Jesus washed his disciples feet in the Bible, it was a sign that Jesus came not to be served, but to serve. Same in a marriage. As a husband and wife, there's no greater sign of love than the heart of a servant.

How did you two meet? (Tell us all those little details!) We met at Church in 2019 - we started talking more to each other in August/September of that year, but the age difference quickly became a concern for the people around us. In November of 2019 though, we decided to give it a try and go out on a few dates without telling anyone outside of our immediate family (best decision ever). We were already established as a couple before we let anymore outside influence affect our future relationship, and honestly, it was one of the most special times in our lives. We officially started dating on November 24th, then Jason proposed to me on October 20th or 2020. The engagement was a complete surprise, and it was more than I could ever ask for! We spent the next (many) months planning our perfect wedding, which happened to also be in the same month that I graduated and we bought our first house!

Tell us about THE dress! What made you fall in love? I actually fell in love with two dresses… but thankfully David’s Bridal had a 7-day return policy, because on the 6th day, I decided to go return the other dress that I had bought and get the one that I wore for the wedding from Simply Elegant. I knew Jason would love this dress, and it fit in so perfectly with the vision that I had in mind for the wedding!

Katelyn's dress was absolutely perfect for her vision of the day. It was a form fitted, spaghetti strap, lace dress from Simply Elegant. Needless to say, I think Jason loved it!

What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it? Our first dance song was “Prayer for You” by Matt Snell. Ever since we started dating that had been “our song”. We felt like the lyrics and the meaning behind it fit in perfectly with our story, so it was not question that we were going to have this as our first dance song.

(For the Groom) Describe what you felt when you saw your bride on your wedding day: Relieved, Excited, and Thankful

Jason's reaction though! We never know how a groom will react to seeing his bride on the wedding day. Will they smile...will they cry their eyes out..will they just stand there speechless?? Jason, 100% cried his eyes out. His reaction to his bride walking down that aisle was something out of a movie.

(For the Bride) Describe what you felt when you saw your groom on your wedding day: Very relieved - the day was finally here! Happy and just very content is the best way to put it. There was no stress or worry or fear of being the center of attention - all I could think about was marrying him.

What was the most emotional part of the day for you? (bride's response) Walking down the aisle. I am a big crier, so I know I probably had the worst face walking down the aisle, because I was trying so hard not to cry because I knew once I started, I probably wouldn’t stop.

What was the most emotional part of the day for you? (groom's response) Reading our vows to each other

What is ONE moment of your day that you will always remember? Honestly…everything (because it was all amazing), but I would say the feet washing ceremony. No matter what life throws our way, we want to remember that it is our responsibility to serve each other as husband and wife.

Katelyn and Jason have the sweetest hearts. To have the heart of a servant is something that the Bible strives to teach. Being able to be that to your spouse is part of that "what's one secret about your long lasting marriage" question."

Favorite part of the Phocus Experience? Everything!! (And I mean it) y’all made everything so seamless, and I could not ask for anything more!!

We can't wait to see where Jason and Katelyn's marriage takes them. We were so glad to be a part of their big day!

Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Adams!
