Where to even begin with Johnna and Adam's wedding day?!? It was a small, intimate wedding for those who love Adam and Johnna the most! Don't get us wrong, we LOVE the big SHABANG weddings, but there is just something about those intimate weddings that really have a special place in our hearts! It goes to show what truly is important, and WHY we are all here to begin with. The love that Johnna and Adam have for one another truly shines from their pores, and it's infectious to everyone in a ten mile radius!
Number One Tip for Future Phocus Couples to Consider About The Wedding Day: Relax! You’re in the best hands. Phocus staff are so helpful, supportive, and intentional in their directions and processes throughout the ceremony! Don’t be afraid to speak up and ask questions or ask for specific details/shots.
We could not agree more with Johnna! As much as we love to do our thing, ultimately we are there for you guys, so if you want specific moments captured, let us know! We want to make we capture all those moments so you can remember all of them ten years from now!
What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos/video? This is tough, I know we’re going to love looking back on all of the memories captured. I’m most looking forward to the pictures/video of walking down the aisle to meet Adam and cutting out gender reveal cake!

Even though every single chair was not filled, the love that their family and friend's have for Johnna and Adam could fill a whole stadium of chairs! This is truly what matters at the end of the day! Having the ones that mean the world to them supporting one of the biggest milestones in their lives!
How did you two meet? We met on tinder. What a time to be alive! She actually ghosted me for a couple months. Luckily I was persistent .-Adam
These online dating apps seem to be taking over our love stories, and we are NOT mad about it! Meeting online can go one of two ways...one, you meet a stalker, or two, you meet the love of your life! SO happy to see which route their love story decided to take! ;) The chemistry and relationship that the two have blossomed together in intoxicating in all the best ways! There is no denying the love and adoration they have for each other. Makes all us single folks hold onto to the hope that true love really does exist!
Tell us about THE dress! What made you fall in love? I had a spaghetti strap lace A line dress. I loved the lace and flower detail. It was the one that I tried on that felt the best and just felt right. I also loved how the straps came to a v in the back.
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it? “Til Death Do Us Part” by James Smith. We chose that song, because Adam had heard and remembered the song from a Hulu series, Four Weddings and a Funeral. It has such sweet lyrics and seemed like a perfect first dance song after we both listened to it.
Describe what you felt when you saw your bride on your wedding day: So I haven’t cried in years. Probably before Johnna and I met was the last time I cried. Crying never even crossed my mind, but the build up before seeing Johnna for the first time in her white dress broke me down. Turning around while standing by the officiant and laying eyes on Johnna brought me to tears. - Adam
Johnna and I were placing bets on if we thought Adam was going to shed some tears, and it's safe to say Johnna won! Adam has that very chill and "hold it together" exterior, but I guess when you see the love of you life walking down the aisle all that melts away!
Describe what you felt when you saw your groom on your wedding day: I was really nervous up to that point, but after seeing him instantly felt a sense of calm. I was so excited to say our vows and finally say we were husband and wife! It was an immediate feeling of complete happiness seeing him at the alter looking super handsome :) - Johnna
What was the most emotional part of the day for you? Cutting the cake and finding out we are going to have a little girl. It felt very surreal and I couldn’t imagine a better partner to do life with than Adam. I was overwhelmed with happiness all over again!

This was actually the first time I had the honor of being apart of a wedding AND a gender reveal at the same time, and let me tell ya...these tears were VERY real behind my camera! It was such a beautiful day, and then to top off the joy and excitement of finding our you're having a baby girl (which she will wrap Adam around her finger) just puts the icing on the cake! Pun definitely intended!!
What was the most emotional part of the day for you? Definitely seeing Johnna walk down the aisle. -Adam

Favorite part of the Phocus Experience? All of it honestly! Sara and Dustin were so nice, patient, funny, and easy to work with. They were super helpful in getting us posed correctly and giving great examples of what they were looking for! They seemed like they were having fun too, so the entire experience was just the best!! Would absolutely recommend Phocus to anyone and everyone looking for a photographer.
Overall, the Vafides's wedding day went so perfect, and it truly was just a time of celebration of many milestones all in one day! We could not have asked for a more perfect day for the most PERFECT couple! We can't wait to see what the future holds for not just them, but also their babygirl!
