JC + Sheridan

JC and Sheridan's wedding day was absolutely beautiful! From the perfect weather to all the good vibes floating through the air! From the moment we arrived, we did our usual walk around the venue to do our scouting, and we couldn't wait to get the day started! We went to go say hi to Sheridan, and she was nothing but smiles! You could see the nerves were bubbling a little inside, but who wouldn't be nervous on their wedding day?!?

Number One Tip for Future Phocus Brides to Consider:

"Don't sweat the little stuff. Your guests don't know what the original plan was, so they won't know things aren't as you planned them if you don't say anything."-Sheridan

We honestly could not agree more with Sheridan! Things happen on the wedding day that you cannot always plan for, but if nobody knows what is "supposed" to happen then everything still went to plan as far as your guest may know! ;)

What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos?

"When we were at the altar."-JC

JC seeing his bride coming down the aisle was such an emotional moment. Earlier in the day, JC and Sheridan did a "first look" with one another so they were able to see each other before the ceremony. That didn't change a thing, because JC was still very emotional seeing his bride walking towards him down the aisle!

What moment were you most looking forward to seeing in the photos?

"The first looks. All of them."-Sheridan

There were a few "first looks" we did through the day with Sheridan and JC. We did the first look between JC and Sheridan, first look with Sheridan's dad, and a first look with JC and his bestman! Yes, you heard me correctly! We call this a "gag" first look! JC had NO idea what Sheridan had planned for him, and it was one of our favorite moments from the day!

How did you two meet?

"In a cold, dark room on a ship in the middle of the pacific ocean! We spent hours on watch there, and had plenty of time to get to know each other as friends. That shortly blossomed into a romantic relationship between us, and the rest is history!"-Sheridan

The chemistry between Sheridan and JC was clearly undeniable! We honestly did not have to say a word to them to get these amazing photos. They were just being themselves, and we were there taking pictures of it! They couldn't help but laugh and smile in their moments alone with one another!

Tell us about THE dress!

"It had layers and layers with so many folds and laced with beading so that at every angle it would sparkle!! I had little girls asking to dance with the princess because it made me look like I was royalty in the literal sense. Also...it had pockets!"-Sheridan

Sheridan is 100% right! She looked like a literal Disney princess in her dress, which we know she does not mind! ;) Sheridan owned every inch of her dress, and it left us speechless!

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST DANCE SONG?: Stealing Cinderella

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THAT SONG?:

"For the emotional pull the words would have after first dancing with my Dad. My partner and I never had a specific song for us."-Sheridan

JC and Sheridan's faces tell it all! As they shared their first dance together, there was nobody else in that room! They could not keep their eyes off one another, and nothing else mattered in these moments but the two of them.

Describe the BRIDE on your wedding day!

"It was as if I had never seen the light if day, and then you see the most beautiful sunrise of them all."-JC

JC really hit this one out of the park! Sheridan was the queen of the day, and she was absolutely stunning! We understand why JC got so emotional during their first look! Look at her!!

Describe the GROOM on your wedding day!

"He was so utterly handsome. I saw some of the small details he had done specifically for me (like how he styled his facial hair) and it meant so much to me."-Sheridan

From the moment we arrived, we could see how nervous JC was to see his bride! Then Sheridan surprised him with the "gag first look" with his bestman which built even MORE suspense to see his bride! Once he finally did, it was nothing but waterworks!

What was the most EMOTIONAL part of the day and WHY?

"During both of the first looks, and when she was walking down the aisle. The very first look I was so nervous and emotional because everything was finally coming together in that one moment, but it turned out to be my best man in a wedding dress. It really helped me not be as nervous later on. Then when she walked down the aisle it hit me that it was real and finally happening."-JC

JC tried his best to hold back those emotions when those doors opened, and his bride came walking through the doors. It was a moment that Sheridan and JC have been beyond ready to happen!

What was the most EMOTIONAL part of the day and WHY?

"When I first saw my Dad during his first look and then when I was walking down the aisle. I've always been a Daddy's girl and he means just so much to me. All the memories of us together as I was growing up came flooding to me, and knowing that he would be passing the torch to another man that cared so deeply for me. Then when I walked down the aisle, and that same emotion of the fact that he would be giving me away to someone that is so right for me came rushing in!"-Sheridan

Sheridan's first look with her Dad was so emotional, we couldn't help but shed a few tears as well! Sometimes you can just look at someone's face, and see just how much someone means to them. We were honored to capture these special moments between Sheridan and her Dad.

What is ONE moment of your wedding you will always remember?

"The moment when my Dad gave me away to my soon-to-be husband."-Sheridan

Sheridan's Dad held it together until he handed his daughter off to JC, and then all the emotions came running in. Dad's play such an emotional role in a daughter's life, and we can always see just how close they are in this moment of giving his daughter away at the altar.

Favorite Part of the Phocus Experience?

"Getting to work with the Phocus team. They made me feel relaxed and so happy to be taking all of those photos."-Sheridan

Being a part of Sheridan and JC's wedding day was such an honor to capture every moment. We could see just how special this day was for not just the bride and groom, but also all the family members involved. JC is not able to see his family as often as he we would like, so being able to unite the whole family in one place, really meant the world to JC and Sheridan!
